There's a lot of talk about control
there's a lot of talk about how to do it right
and how everybody's doin it wrong
blow it up
give geologists a treat
put a road through it
so the rest of us can be
anywhere else
what did i expect as a kid dreaming of flying out the window?
what do i expect now that everything i love is problematic?
pops was a sailor, man, so what did you expect?
didn't quit the sea till his body got wrecked
as for me, i take what i can get: concrete killing green
what is honor when there's no going back?
sure one man quit, but there's still gill nets
and all these hives burning out night skies
well i hate em, but i'll use em
you know me, any excuse to stay gone
walls to build a road, anywhere i wanna go i go
walls to build a road anywhere i want
(we feel the same
but i want to leave
i understand if you feel the same)

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

The perfect album for the summer, you can just feel the hot days, being right there having the time of your life with your friends and the nights of introspection. ed_2099
